Our full website is still under construction but we just had to tell you about our forthcoming event for the Midsumma Festival (Melbourne’s queer arts and cultural festival). This is the biggest event we have staged so far and it’s something we know you’ll love:
A Sunset Soiree
“Join ButchFemmeTrans Melbourne for an evening of jazz, cocktails, food and finery…”ButchFemmeTrans Melbourne invites you to a Midsumma night’s cocktail party. Featuring live jazz by Yana Alana and Tha Parana Party, gourmet fare, sumptuous cocktails – and you, in all your finery. Join us for an evening of sparkling drinks and even-more-sparkling conversation.
Following on from our fabulous dinners and other social events over the last 18 months, we have turned up the glamour and turned on the mood lighting for this special event. Dress glamorously, mingle freely, and revel in your gorgeousness.
We welcome anyone with a connection to butch/femme/trans identities. Over-dressing, dancing, flirtation and long chats over cocktails are absolutely encouraged.

We’re very excited about this event. We decided it was time to put on a really glamorous event and this is the result.
Glamour aside, we’ve gone all out to put on the best possible event for you. Yana Alana and Tha Parana Party are brilliant performers who recently won the 2007 Melbourne Fringe Festival Cabaret Award (that’s Yana in the photo on the right). They are sure to put on a great show and keep the event swinging. Our caterer is food artiste and chef Fofi Christou. Fofi’s culinary creations have featured at events such as Melbourne Food and Wine Festival and Slow Food Festival, and in publications such as Epicure. On top of all of that, with generous support from Gasworks, we have kept the price of this event as low as possible to ensure that lots of people are able to attend. You even get your first drink for free!
If you’ve got any queries, please feel free to contact us. And if you want us to keep you posted about our forthcoming events, please ask us to sign you up to our e-mailing list.
